Hit the trail!

Out and about on the Northern Central Finland Trail Network

Northern Central Finland’s nature trail network is ready and just waiting to be explored.

The magnificent and diverse forest landscapes and breathtaking lakeland countryside of Central Finland are all the inspiration you need to get up and out there –closer to nature.

The Northern Central Finland Trail Network is an easily accessible and navigable nature trail system leading through some of the region’s most inspiring landscapes. Routes can be easily chosen to suit your ability and interests –anything from gentle walks and scenic cycling routes to trail biking, skiing and whitewater kayaking. Many of the routes also offer a trail of exploration of local sights and attractions and cultural and historical places of interest, and routes can be planned to include campfire stops, lodgings and other services along the way.

The network has a variety of unique and memorable trails to choose from for hikers, skiers, cyclists, trail bikers, pole walkers, horse riders and canoeists and kayakers alike. The trails are excellently maintained and some great new link trails have recently been added to the network.

To order your own printed map of the trail network, simply click the ‘Trail Map’ button opposite an enter your details. For detailed online maps of the trail network area, click the ‘Trail Search and Webmap’ button. You can also use the Webmap service as a route planner and to search for en-route services (shelters, campfires etc.) and sights and attractions along the trail.
